Statement of intent:

The intended audience for my set of images is fans of adult board games.
I intend for the viewer to be served with photos that show the product they are buying and for them to feel that they want to play the game. The images will be similar to those you would expect to see in an online marketplace such as Amazon, where I have drawn inspiration.

I’ll produce six product photographs from a commercial approach depicting a clear narrative illustrating the game Cluedo as a product set and being played in a lifestyle situation. The look and feel will be moody/atmospheric with spot lighting to evoke mystery and drama.

I aim to capture the images at home and in a studio during the day from first and third-person perspectives in landscape format, which is suitable for most commercial purposes, such as advertising in print and online. The images will be staged in a commercial way that illustrates the game of Cluedo being played in order to sell the product to fans of adult board games. I will inlcude a packshot to show all of the contents of the product - this will be non-stylised and on a plain backdrop as it needs to be the main reference point for potential purchasers (what you would likely see in a listing online).

Capturing this sense of action interests me because I regularly take product photos in a studio for work purposes but always to a prescriptive style. I’m intrigued to explore other products creatively to showcase them to a different audience.
